Object condition
Good vintage condition overall. Unwashed to preserve the original hand and sizing; expect cotton slubs, loose fibres, old fold marks, minor marks, edge wear and weaving irregularities.
Identification notes
The grid and raised surface are structural: small square cells are formed by the rise and fall of warp and weft, giving the cloth a three-dimensional waffle / honeycomb character.
The textile is sold as one whole piece. Its narrow 43 cm width is consistent with older household or small-loom cloth rather than modern factory-width yardage.
The bright red, teal, pink, blue and cream palette gives the cloth a lively folk appearance while the handspun-style yarn creates visible irregularity and depth.
The symbolic reading of the small grid as domestic steadiness and everyday blessing is retained here as an interpretive folk reading rather than a documented maker statement.
