Complete washed vintage piece. The cloth is relatively lightweight, soft and flexible, with a gentle homespun surface. Small changes in yarn thickness, tiny knots and slight weave irregularities are retained as handmade characteristics.
Identification notes
The supplied listing attributes the textile to the Nantong / Jiangnan region of eastern China and estimates it to the 1950s–1970s. The exact maker and production year are not documented.
The construction is described as traditional wooden-loom plain weave using handspun-style homespun cotton. The coloured pattern is formed by dyed yarns during weaving, not by surface printing.
The long narrow rhythm is described as 柳条纹 — willow stripe. Fine broken cream dots beside parts of the green stripe create a tiny speckled effect compared in the listing to a trail of ants.
Because the textile has already been washed, much of its original sizing has disappeared and the cloth now feels noticeably softer than unused old-stock homespun.
Suggested uses in the supplied listing include patchwork, slow stitching, visible mending, handmade bags and pouches, garment panels, tea mats, table textiles, cushion accents, textile collage and collecting.
The listing names the piece 翠影柳丝条 / Cui Ying Liu Si Tiao — Emerald Willow Stripe: a dark vintage stripe softened by blue, green and tiny cream points.
A dark cloth whose colour appears slowly
From a distance the fabric reads as very dark and restrained; close viewing reveals layered blue, green, red and cream yarns.
The full one-metre piece is kept as a single object rather than being divided into 50 cm sale units.
