Object condition
Unused vintage deadstock, carefully washed and ironed before listing. The cloth remains soft and breathable with a little original sizing still present. Expect slight print-density variation, small colour shifts, yarn slubs, fuzzy fibres, raw or uneven edges and other small-workshop irregularities.
Identification notes
The supplied listing attributes the cloth to the Nantong area of Jiangsu and estimates the date to the 1950s–1960s. The exact workshop, dye composition and printing method are not documented and therefore remain open.
The print combines red stylised flowers, blue and purple geometric shapes, scattered dotted marks and curling motifs. Colours were applied in separate layers, leaving slight shifts and overlaps that are part of the older handmade or small-workshop character.
